On May 22, 2016 my husband and I said I do in front of our family and friends. Months of planning, stressing, and making sure every little detail would be perfect all lead up to just one day. A day that felt like it happened in just minutes but at the same time, if I close my eyes I can almost feel like I'm standing there in my lace wedding dress walking towards the man I've loved since I was eighteen. 

Eighteen is where our love story began. In a dorm room the size of a closet, in the first few days of our freshman year at college. As we talked about our lives, our dreams, and our futures, it became clear to me that this man was special. Days turned into weeks, weeks into years. Fast forward nine years later and I'm the luckiest girl to call him my husband.

Although we've been together for quite a long time, this past year was our first time as a married couple. And even though we know each other like the back of our hands, this year brought new  surprises and challenges that come along with this new season of life. When we said our I do's, we took a vow to love each other even when we sometimes don't want to like each other. And this my friends, is no easy task. No relationship is perfect and certainly no marriage is perfect. We are humans and we are flawed. But marriage is the combining of two very flawed people who've decided to put love above all else. 

I've been married for only 365 days and I can tell you that marriage is hard. But I can also tell you that it is beautiful and something I cherish most in this world. Marriage is a choice that you have to choose every single day. And in this world and the next, I'd choose him, everyday for the rest of my life. 

So if you're reading this- Happy Anniversary my love. One year down, forever to go.
