Summer Favorites: 2018
Hi friends! I know I've been a bit MIA and honestly I've just been in kind of a creative rut and have also been going through a lot personally. None of which is an excuse but just being honest about where I've been! I hope to post more frequently and would love to know what you guys wanna hear about! I'm getting a little sad that summer is coming to an end but anyone who knows me, knows I live for Fall! I'm all about the crisp weather, boots, sweaters, and feel free to give me all the apple cider doughnuts!!
As much as I love fall, it's always a bit depressing knowing the warm weather will be gone before we know it. My midwest people, I know you feel me on this one! As I was thinking about the fact that we’re already in August, I thought I'd share with you guys some of the things that I fell in love with this summer! I hope you all are having the best summer and have an even better Fall :)
1. Don't Despair, Repair hair mask by Briogeo: I had my eye on this hair mask for months so when I got it in my FabFitFun box I was over the moon! I had heard so many great reviews on this mask so I had pretty high expectations going into and I have to say it definitely did not disappoint. I like to treat myself to this once a week or so and love the way it makes my hair feel! If you're in need of a moisturizing hair mask, I highly recommend this one!
2. Native Deodorant: I know I've talked about other favorite aluminum-free deodorants in the past but I'm currently obsessed with this one from Native! I kept seeing this deodorant everywhere on social media platforms and have to admit, I was curious to see if it really was as great as they claimed. I especially liked that Native has deodorants that are not only aluminum and paraben free but also ones that are made without baking soda. I often noticed that all natural or aluminum free deodorants would irritate my under arms and researched that was common with deodorants made with baking soda. My underarms are happy to report that they're not irritated and the coconut vanilla scent is my fave!
3. Waning Moon Necklace from LayeredandLong: For the last year and half I've been wearing the same bar necklace my husband got me with the coordinates from our wedding on it and don't get me wrong I LOVE that necklace but I was feeling the need for something new. Just like my bar necklace, I decided to search my favorite Etsy shop for a dainty moon necklace. I'm so happy I found this one and have been loving the way it looks! I chose a waning moon because it means surrender. In quite a dark season that I've been going through with infertility. I realized that what I need most is to surrender because I am not in control. He is. And I wanted this necklace to remind me of that when I start to feel like I need to control a situation that is so much bigger than me.
4. Luna play plus by Foreo: This little gem is another favorite find from my summer box with FabFitFun! I've been using it everyday since and I don't think I could wash my face without it now. I love that it's super compact and easy to travel with. I also love that it does a really great job at making my skin feel so clean but not stripped. I swear that between this and my cleanser my face is glowing after I wash it! Definitely a win from this summer that I'm so glad I found!
5. Period Cup by Lena: YUP, THAT'S A PERIOD CUP AND IT'S KINDA THE BEST THING EVER. I know I know, totally saved the best for last! I'll be the first to admit that the thought of a period cup was so taboo to me for years and my best friends + husband all think I'm weird for loving this haha but I definitely do! I watched tons of Youtube videos and researched so many different cups and I'm so thankful I ended up going with the Lena Cup. It was easy to use and the benefits for sure outweigh the cons for me! Goodbye tampons, hello period cup. I'm thinking about doing a whole blog post on period cups, let me know if that would be interesting to you!!
Alright ya'll that's a wrap on some of my favorite finds from this summer! I hope you enjoyed and as always I'd love to know what some of your favorites are- you know I'm always down to try out new things!!
-xoxo, M.
