Current Summer Essentials

How are we already half way through summer?! I feel like i’m in this period where the days are long but somehow the weeks are flying by! I think it’s safe to say that summer 2020 is one for the history books and one that I won’t forget. I had so many plans for this summer that unfortunately are not going to happen due to Covid but I’m still trying to make the best of it and enjoy these slow moments with my son. I just hope and pray that next summer the world looks like a different place than it does today!

I thought it would be fun to share a few of the things that I’ve been loving this summer which include some of my go-to products! From the best natural deodorant to a clean mineral sunscreen you can feel good about using- I got you covered!

- Native Deodorant: Out of all the natural and aluminum free deodorants I’ve used- and I’ve used quite a bit- this has been favorite one, hands down! I love that I can conveniently pick it up at Target and this coconut & vanilla scent smells like the beach and who doesn’t want their pits to smell like the beach?! In the past with natural deodorants, I’ve found that they either don’t work as good or have given me a rash and I’ve never had that issue with this one. It’s definitely a product that I can’t live without especially in these hot summer months!

- Kate Spade Sunnies: My husband bought me these last year and I still love them so much! I feel like you really can’t go wrong with a good pair of black sunglasses and these do not disappoint! They’re my go to and I feel like they’re the perfect shape for my not so small head haha!

- Aerie Wrap Swimsuit: When I first tried on this one-piece, I was unsure if I was going to keep it because tbh it doesn’t do the best job at hiding the girls but to be fair- nothing really does right now because breastfeeding probs. Ha! But my friends convinced me that it looked good and I’m glad that they did because it really is super cute! I love the olive green color and the fact that its a wrap suit makes it super nursing-friendly which is a win win in my book these days!

- Beautycounter Glow Shimmer Oil: I’ve been loving adding this shimmer oil on my arms & legs to give it a bit of an extra glow especially now that I’ve discovered sunless tanner! This bronzy shimmer oil is perfect on your chest and decolletage area too!

- Sun hat: I got this oversized sun hat from Target last year (linked a similar one) but I just think these are so cute and a fun addition to your summer wear! I remember rocking this hat with a strappy bikini and a huge baby bump last summer haha oh how I miss my bump!!

- Beach Towel: Is it weird to be obsessed with a beach towel?! Ha, probably but it’s just so cute! It’s from the Hearth & Hand line at Target (from last year but linked a similar one) and I knew I had to have it when I saw it. It’s really big which I love and I know I’ll get a lot of use out of it in the years to come!

- Beautycounter Mineral Sunscreen: When it comes to sunscreen- Beautycounter is the way to go! All of their sunscreens are mineral based sunscreens which is so important when talking about non-toxic sunscreens. If you don’t know the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreens- I highly suggest doing your research on them because sunscreens can contain some pretty toxic ingredients! Beautycounter’s mineral sunscreen has SPF 30, contains non-nano zinc and will protect you from UVA and UVB rays! Honestly, it’s the only sunscreen I use and will trust to put on my son because I know how much BC tests the safety of their ingredients! They also launched a facial SPF this summer which is amazing and so important because we gotta protect our faces from all the harmful effects of the sun!!

Although this summer hasn’t exactly gone as planned, I know I am still making memories that will forever be etched on my heart- like seeing Hudson’s reaction the first time we put him in his baby pool! I hope you all are having the best summer despite our current circumstances and that you’re trying to make some lemonade out of all these lemons we’ve been dealt!
