Self Care: My Favorite Face Masks
If you're anything like me, you love to to pamper yourself and what better way to do that than a good face mask! It's easily one of the best ways to to help relax at the end of a night in! My favorite way to use them is right after a shower so the product can really get into your pores. Truly, what is better than a hot shower + face mask + glass of wine + Netflix binge? Nothing. Well besides maybe tacos, or pizza, ooh or doughnuts! I've told you before, homegirl loves food.
Anyways the other night I had a horrible experience with a face mask I purchased at Target. It was a clay mask and all was well until I started washing it off. Let's just say as I was wiping the mask away I quickly realized my skin was as red as a tomato and it burned like a B. Thankfully it only lasted a few hours and I didn't have to bust out my full coverage foundation the next day! But it got me thinking about the face masks I already had that I've been loving for a while now. And I figured why not spread the love! I have about three go to face masks that I use depending on what my skin needs at the moment and all of them can be purchased at Sephora!
1. Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask by Glow Recipe: First off, this mask is love at first smell. Just like the name, it smells like fresh watermelons! The mask itself is a pink jelly consistency which makes it fun to touch! This mask is great when your skin needs a hydration boost. Best part is you wear it overnight and when you wake up in the morning and wash your face- you'll be glowing like JLo!
2. Bright White Mask by Boscia: This is the mask I've had the longest and it's a true holy grail product! This mask is perfect for helping even skin tone and hyper pigmentation. It always leaves my skin feeling soft and looking visibly smoother. This mask you leave on for about 25 minutes and then you peel it off. And yes, it is the most satisfying feeling!! I also found that it works best with a thicker layer!
3. SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment by Glamglow: This bad boy is a must if you have acne prone skin and problems with large pores. It is a charcoal mask that helps balance the oils in your skin and leaves it feeling so smooth! You can use this as a mask for 5-20 minutes or you can use as a spot treatment!
4. Mint Julips by Lush: Although this isn't a face mask, I thought I'd add it anyways! It's my favorite lip scrub to exfoliate my lips. It's perfect for these winter months when your lips are feeling extra dry. The best part about this is that its edible! You can literally just scrub your lips with it and lick it off if you'd like! They also have other flavors but this mint one is my go to!
Hope you guys enjoyed and don't forget to take the time to pamper yourself and take care of your skin! I'd love to know what your favorite face masks are! And I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! :)
