Current Skincare Routine

I don't know what it is but lately I have been so into skincare! Most of my purchases from Sephora for the last six months have mainly been skincare products. Maybe it has a little something to do with the fact that I just turned 28, which is basically 30, so your girl needs to be taking care of her skin!

When choosing skincare products, it's important to know what type of skin you have ( dry, oily, normal, or combination). It's also important to keep in mind areas you may want to improve on such as: acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, enlarged pores, etc. For me, I've always been an oily and acne prone kinda girl, thanks to my good friend- PCOS. But for some reason this winter has made my skin very dry but I still get oily in my t-zone! So I've been trying a lot of hydrating products recently and have been loving the effect it has on my skin. When I was younger, I used to avoid anything that was supposed to be hydrating because I thought that equalled grease but I've learned that's simply not the truth! So to all my oily girls, don't be scared of hydrating products! And to all my dry skin girls, I envy you!

I've tried a ton of skincare products over the years and I've learned that when it comes to skincare, usually it pays off to get high quality products even if you have to spend a little more. To me, it's so worth it though because it's important to feel good in your own skin with or without makeup. And I know I feel better if my skin looks and feels better. I think I've finally found the right combination of products for my day and nighttime skincare routine!

Nighttime Skincare Routine:

Micellar Cleansing Water by Simple: This is the first step in my skincare routine and this micellar water is great at taking off face makeup and even stubborn eye make up! It's safe for sensitive skin, doesn't irritate my eyes, and is super hydrating as well! I've tried several different cleansing waters from the drugstore and so far, this has been my fave!

Jelly Cleanser by Drunk Elephant: After using the micellar water, I like to follow up with this gentle cleanser to ensure I have removed all of the makeup. I like that this cleanser does a really great job of completely cleaning the skin without drying it out too much!

Marula Oil by Drunk Elephant: I started off buying the travel size version of this because I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. In the past, I've always been scared of putting oils on this already oily prone face. My favorite thing about this oil is that is is light, absorbs into the skin quickly, but is extremely hydrating. After only using this for a few days, I could tell my skin was more hydrated, plumper, and I'd wake up with a glow! Definitely will be purchasing the full size soon!

Lala Retro Whipped Cream by Drunk Elephant: Ok, I'm like 99% sure I talked about this before but it's still my all time favorite night cream. I'm telling you this little gem is the most moisturizing cream that I've ever put on my face! It has saved my skin this winter and I don't see myself ever using anything else! If you have oily skin like me, I'd recommend only using this at night- but if you're a dry skin kinda girl then I'd apply this little piece of heaven day and night!

Lip Sleeping Mask by Laneige: This lip mask is the best thing that I've purchased recently! I literally look forward to putting this on every night and have become so obsessed that I now put it on throughout the day too. It is so moisturizing and has completely cured my dry lips after the cold winter. Oh and the best part is, it smells like cotton candy and it is pretty reasonably priced compared to many other lip masks on the market!

Daytime Skincare Routine:

Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer by Drunk Elephant: So my daytime skincare routine is a lot less high maintenance than my nighttime routine. First thing I do when I wake up, is just wash my face with some cold water to wake me up and get off any excess products from the night before. Then, I follow up with this moisturizer that is perfect for oily skin! It is so light and it sinks into the skin pretty quickly. It also leaves your skin feeling tacky which is the best preparation for putting on foundation! Throughout the day this lotion will give my skin a subtle glow that isn't greasy looking and I think my foundation really lasts longer when I wear this! And yes, it smells absolutely amazing!!

Over the years, I've realized how important it is to take care of your skin and my daily routines are something I now look forward too. Especially at night, I love going through the steps and it helps me to relax! I hope you all enjoyed a glimpse into my skincare routine and be sure to let me know if you try any of these products out! I'd also love to know what your favorite products are!
